Joshua Roberts comes to First United Methodist Church of Nelsonville from Grove City, Ohio. He holds a B. A. in Biblical and Theological Studies from Boyce College, the undergraduate school of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He is currently working towards a M. Div. from Rawlings School of Divinity at Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA. Before serving First United Methodist Church of Nelsonville he served as a Supply Pastor for Faith United Methodist Church of Zanesville, OH. 

Pastor Josh is an avid reader, his favorite subjects to read are European Reformation History and Philosophy.

Leah joined our staff in October 2018. She was raised in Nelsonville and attended Nelsonville-York High School. She is now a wife and mother of two children. 

Director of Music

Susan Barber

Susan has been a member of Nelsonville FUMC since 1969. She is retired after 31 years of teaching elementary music, Kindergarten and second and third grades in both public and private Christian schools. She earned a BS from Eastern Nazarene College and an MA from Ohio University, both in Music Education. She enjoys her family, reading, and sewing. She prays that God will use her to glorify Him and touch your heart through music.

Steve Cox

Steve Cox is a  lifelong resident of Nelsonville and a long time member of Nelsonville First.  He currently resides in town with his wife Debbie and they have two grown children, Kelly and Casey. He is employed with Nelsonville Home and Savings Bank.  Steve has been a certified lay servant in The Methodist Church for many years and is a member of The Foothills District Building Committee. He currently leads the Adult Sunday School Class and serves as a Lay Liturgist within the church as well as being a member of the church choir.

Brian Bailey

Brian grew up in Chester, Ohio (Meigs Co.). He became an Eagle Scout and graduated from Eastern High School in 1989. He then graduated from the University of Rio Grande in 1993. He moved close to the Nelsonville area and has been employed at HVCRC since 1997 working with juveniles. He's attended FUMC Nelsonville since 1997. He has spent much of his time working with youth and coaching softball and basketball.
